1971 The strategy video game Project Helios is played using a turn-based system and combines modern military tactics with hand-to-hand combat. Weapons and vehicles are hard to come by, there is no end in sight to the fighting and hostilities, and the bitterly cold weather obliterates both allies and adversaries in its path.
The campaign takes place in a frozen world, in which eight individuals, each with their own set of challenges and concerns, come together to form a sort of temporary alliance in order to locate a specific person named Dr. Margaret Blythe. Along the way, they will have to evade attacks from raiders, investigate the headquarters of the military, and sneak into the territory of a dangerous religious sect that is opposed to technological advancement. They will travel and fight shoulder to shoulder as they try to locate her, and in the process, they will unavoidably become acquainted with the other people. You will direct these characters to one of three possible conclusions, depending on the choices they make both strategically and personally throughout the game.
