It is the year 50 Before Christ. Roman forces have complete control over all of Gaul. But that’s not the whole story… There is still one small Gaulish village that is holding out against the advancing invaders. In addition, the Roman legionaries who were assigned to garrison the fortified camps of Totorum, Aquarium, Laudanum, and Compendium had a difficult existence.
The people of the small Armorican village go about their day-to-day lives without disrupting the peace that reigns in the community. While our two heroes, Asterix and Obelix, go on a hunt for wild boar, the village blacksmith and fishmonger get into a fight, and the chief of the village rides his shield while he takes a stroll around the village square.
Asterix and Obelix return from a successful day of hunting to discover that the Romans have set their village on fire and pillaged its inhabitants. They took their trusty dog Dogmatix with them as they set out on their journey to save their fellow villagers. In order to rescue the villagers from the grasp of Emperor Caesar, they will have to travel all the way from Normandy to Greece, then Helvetia, Egypt, and finally Rome…
