Joe Dunn, the proprietor of a boxing club in New York City during the 1950s, was discovered dead.
While this was going on, rising star Bobby Yale vanished without a trace just before he was scheduled to compete in the most significant fight of his career.
When Sonia Dunn, Joe’s daughter, takes over the gym, she is faced with the challenge of resolving the business’s financial issues. She retains the services of private investigator John Blacksad to look into the disappearance of Yale. Our investigator will have to go to the lowest, gloomiest parts of New York City in order to solve this ominous case.
As with the eponymous comic book series, BLACKSAD: Under the Skin features anthropomorphic characters and an incredible feel of the 1950s. It also promises all the eerily dark adventure of a detective novel and follows in the same vein.
