A malevolent force only known as Lina is consuming the data stored on a vast, interdimensional network of servers that is being monitored by sentient computers known as “motes.” In an act of desperation, the motes call upon heroes from a wide variety of parallel game worlds to engage in one-on-one combat with each other. The champion of the tournament has the opportunity to become the Blade Stranger, the saviour who will defeat Lina and save the motes from any further harm that may come their way.
Blade Strangers is an extreme version of an old-school fighting game that was developed by Studio Saizensen. Because the control scheme only consists of four buttons, even inexperienced players can start dealing damage from the very first round…However, due to the complex combos, counters, and specials, players who are at the level required to compete in tournaments have plenty of opportunities for frame counting, chain construction, and hit-box science.
