EA Sports UFC is a fighting video game based on the sport of mixed martial arts. It was developed as a joint effort between EA Canada and SkyBox Labs, and it was published by EA Sports for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On June 17, 2014, it was made available to the public and is modelled after the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) brand. On June 3, 2014, a playable demo was released on the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Marketplace. The cover athletes Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson were included in the roster of playable fighters in the demo. This is the first UFC video game released by Electronic Arts since THQ sold the licence to them.
The game includes a roster of over 200 fighters, some of whom are current or former UFC champions. Additionally, the game offers a number of different game modes, such as Career Mode, Tournament Mode, and Online Multiplayer, among others. The realistic graphics, fluid gameplay, and extensive roster of fighters in EA Sports UFC were praised by critics, who gave the video game a positive review overall.
