Players take command of the R-9A, a potent spaceship in R-Type Final 2 that is armed with a variety of weapons and able to perform a number of different abilities.
In order for players to advance in the game, they will need to overcome a number of challenging levels and bosses along the way. The game includes many new features, such as a new scoring system, a new power-up system, and a new online multiplayer mode. These are just a few of the new additions.
